Playing Together

Playing together

The Tower is easier, faster and a good deal more fun with company. Here is how to find people and what changes once you do.

Finding a group

The Looking for Group channel
Open your channel list and join Looking for Group. It is one channel for the whole server, so there is always somebody in it.

Say what you want to run and which floor you are on -- floors are level bands, so your floor tells everyone else at a glance whether you can play together. Something like "Floor 3 -- LFG dungeon, playing healer" is all it takes. You can post once every 15 seconds.

Inviting from your friends list
Anyone online on your VIP list can be invited straight to your party, no matter where either of you is standing. They get a popup and can accept from anywhere.

What a party gives you

Nobody is locked out of a corpse
An ordinary monster leaves one corpse, and it belongs to whoever dealt the most damage -- but every member of their party can open it too. There is one shared pile rather than a drop each, so agree who takes what, but you will never be shut out of a kill you helped with.

Bosses pay everyone separately
Bosses and other special monsters use personal loot instead. Everyone who dealt damage gets their own roll, delivered straight to them -- so nobody races for the corpse and helping a friend fight a boss never costs you a drop.

Dungeons scale to your group
Instanced dungeons grow with your headcount -- monsters gain health and give more experience, so the work per person stays about the same while the group clears far faster. Difficulty tiers stack on top of that.

You can see your party anywhere
The party window shows every member's health and mana at any distance, even across floors, and puts them on your minimap. If you lead, you can tag members with roles -- Tank, DPS, Healer, Support, Kill Target, Scout, Focus and Objective -- and the icon appears over their head for everyone.

You share each other's best moments
When anyone in your party finds a unique, legendary or flawless item, you see their drop beam and a line naming what they found. Their luck is your celebration too.

Prefer to play quietly?

Everything above is optional. If the shared drop beams are not for you, 'Hide Loot Beams' and 'Reduce Visual FX' in Quick Settings turn them off -- including the ones from your party.
